I stumbled upon this store by chance after eating near the entrance and was so glad I did! Albert greeted me with a warm smile and explained the chocolates with such genuine passion. His friendly energy made the experience- and the chocolate even better. I had to buy a gift box before leaving. Amazing quality, delicious flavors, and wonderful staff!

What a great experience for the family. My favorite was being able to see the ocean and the Maritime National Historical Park. The park was so beautiful closer to sunset time. As for the square pf coirse chocolate is a family favorite. We got the classic assorted bag since its got everyones favorite flavors. My 4 year old loved the water fountain. There are restaurants shops in the square so you have options for desserts, food and shopping all in one place.

My husband and I used to visit Ghirardelli Square regularly more than 20 years ago, so it was fun to bring our kids this time and share the experience with them. The lines moved fairly quickly, though it still took a while to receive our order after we were seated. The prices were also much higher than I remembered, though that's probably not surprising after 20 years. What mattered most was that the kids loved their ice cream and we had a great time together as a family. While I miss some of the charm of the original experience, it's still a classic San Francisco stop that's worth visiting, especially with kids.

What a great experience I had at this traditional Ghirardelli location. The historic Ghirardelli Square complex is spectacular. The whole place is beautiful, and the store itself is impressive—set with views of the bay, near the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and close to Fisherman's Wharf. Besides enjoying the place, since it was my first time really discovering it, I didn’t quite know what to expect. Even though I was already familiar with their chocolates—I’ve had them many times—I didn’t know they had their own location here with the factory and everything, nor that they offered ice cream and sundaes. Of course, I went for the classic hot fudge sundae, and it exceeded my expectations. The ice cream is high quality—very creamy and full of flavor—and the combination with the chocolate fudge makes it a real treat. If you’re visiting San Francisco, stopping by Ghirardelli is a must. I highly recommend it!
